About Me

My Hockey Path so far

My name is Dereck Namlick, and I am from Littleton, Colorado; and I was born in 2005. I lived most of my youth in Colorado, playing hockey for the Littleton Hawks organization. However, it was not until I was around 11 or 12 that my passion for hockey truly began, and I decided I would do everything in my power to make it to play the highest level of hockey I could and ultimately make the NHL. I began to focus more on my training and academics to begin climbing the ladder toward professional hockey. A couple of years later, my parents decided to leave colorful Colorado and move to South Carolina, where there was only one team to play on. During my one year in SC, I played for the Charleston Colonials USPHL 16u affiliate team, where we made it to USA hockey nationals. After that season, I was fortunate enough to be able to play in the NEPSAC in southern Maine for Berwick Academy (Holt Division). During the 22-23, 23-24 seasons, I played for The Winchendon School as a junior and senior in western Massachusetts. This year, I am starting in the NA3HL for the Wausau Cyclones in Wausau WI.

OFF the Ice

During the time off that I have when I am not training on or off the ice, I have a plethora of hobbies that I love to enjoy (although, I personally have more fun training anyway). I am an outdoors enthusiast, and I love to fish and go backpacking. Along with my love for the outdoors, I enjoy playing the guitar and saxophone. I also like to spend a lot of time reading when I can, my favorite books are The Name of the WindEragon, and Be Water My Friend.
